About

Short Bio

Software Developer in Test with an interest in automation, and a passion for Linux and Open Source.

Education History

My higher education began with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology, followed by Computer Networking classes, and ultimately ended with a Masters of Science in Computer Science. I continue with additional training opportunities as available online and via my employer.

Technical Work Experience

My technical work experience includes both Operations and Software Development at various levels. Development experience ranges from an unsuccessful Android Application company with a handful of released apps, VBA development during an internship, and Test Framework feature implementations. The beginning of my professional career after higher education was Linux Administration and Linux Systems Engineering until moving into Quality Engineering focusing on automation across various cloud platforms.

Certifications Held (either expired or soon to expire)

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Computer Networking: Windows
  • cPanel
  • RHCSA
  • OpenStack Administrator

Non Technical Work Experience

Trying to decide what to be when I “grew up” resulted in time spent in ultimately short lived careers of Emergency Medicine, Retail Management, mechanical work, and Aviation.

Interests

I’m fascinated by technology and the collaboration provided from Open Source. Much of my free time is spent using, reviewing, or contributing to Open Source. My personal projects use or create freely available software for anything from automation of feeding cats, over-engineering my home network, to integrating computers and Amateur Radio.
